Running October 16th to 24th, the 2021 VIJFF mixes virtual and in-person screenings.  In the virtual cinema, the VIJFF presents five feature-length films, three short films, and two live-streamed conversations with film directors and other panelists.  The in-person screenings (Vic Theatre, 808 Douglas Street) include two feature-length films, live jazz pre-show performances, and a family film for children ages 10 and up—plus complimentary nosh boxes containing specially-prepared snacks.  Cinema can remind us all of common joys and shared experiences, which the VIJFF feels is foundational to its guiding value of tikkun olam (“repair of the world”).  This year’s VIJFF is by donation.
