The transition from the Cold War to the post-Cold War world in America is marked as one of the uncertain and challenging times in American history. Despite the war ending without a shot being fired, a peaceful outcome was far from certain at the time. This documentary details President George H.W. Bush's personal relationships with foreign leaders, diplomatic skills, and years of experience in national security affairs, making him well suited to navigate this change period. At the center of the film is an examination of Bush's assembly of a foreign policy team to aid the unprecedented transition that would eventually be known as the "gold standard" of national security apparatuses.
