Wild nature in an unfamiliar landscape. An indigenous Jewish community called The Abayudaya has lived in Uganda since 1919. In 2017 Rabbi Judith arrived from Israel with her filmmaker daughter. The Abayudaya keep their tradition alive, while co-existing with their Christian and Muslim neighbours. Despite the patriarchal society, women participate as equals in the Jewish life events. The intimate documentation shows us powerful female encounters, sex education for young girls at school, honest conversations such as- Are we allowed to pray for money? And answers to the question- Why choose Judaism in a place where it's not expected. The journey enables an introspection about religion, our mother- daughter relationship and what makes people gather into a community.
