This is the story of the controversial London arts festival Notting Hill Carnival, and its meaning. It follows the carnival's origins from the 1958 London race riots, and a young man's murder, to its contemporary perception as a Carnival of violence. The documentary focuses on the arts and the dark past from which it emerged.
