Mariachi Estrella de Topeka was one of the first all female groups, forming in Kansas in the 1970s. Unfortunately, the group's story ended in tragedy when a hotel collapsed where they were performing. Despite the tragedy, Mariachi Estrella demonstrates how these women inspired the Topeka community and region, and continue to do so today.
