This block presents the complete In Her Nature film series. With limited theater time during the in-person Wild Coast Film Festival, only a selection of the six films could be screened. The virtual festival now offers the opportunity to experience the rest of the series while also supporting the wildlife rehabilitation efforts of Wildlife Center of the North Coast.
For those who have already seen the rhino, sloth, and tortoise episodes in other film blocks, either in person or online, we’ve placed the episodes that are only available virtually at the beginning of this block for easier viewing.
In Her Nature takes us into the wild national parks of Nepal where Rhinos and Tigers run free, the deepest corners of Indonesia’s Leuser Ecosystem, untouched corners of Madagascar, and the site of the world’s first Sloth Census in Costa Rica.
"There is an army of women around the world; scientists, doctorates, environmentalists, activists, anti-poaching patrol leaders… unstoppable women taking multi-million dollar palm oil corporations to court.
They are dedicating their lives to save our world’s most at-risk species and habitats. In Her Nature tells their stories. Filmed, directed, and produced by an all-woman team of award-winning wildlife and conservation filmmakers. Together, we’re telling these untold stories of our sisters."

In the otherworldly Spiny Forest of Madagascar, a historic release is about to take place. After 15 years of dedicated care and community teamwork, a trio of female herpetologists is reintroducing a “stampede” of 1,000 critically endangered radiated tortoises.
