American Ocelot tells the story of one of the most endangered and beautiful wild cats in the United States â a species so elusive that high quality images and video have never been captured until now. With fewer than 100 individuals remaining in the US, the ocelot is critically endangered, genetically isolated, and only exists in Texas. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars spent on land acquisition, research, and conservation, ocelot numbers and habitat have steadily decreased since it was listed as an endangered species. But there is hope. Their genetics can be rescued by translocations from Mexico and suitable habitat exists on private lands.... if opposing parties can come to an agreement on their management methods. American Ocelot provides a glimpse into the lives of this mysterious species, explores the nuances of the Endangered Species Act, and aims to invigorate ocelot recovery to ensure the long-term survival of the species.

Biologist Mary Whitfield of the Southern Sierra Research Station has spent two decades studying one of North Americaâs rarest birds: the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher. At her research sites in Californiaâs Kern River Valley, populations have dwindled to just a few pairs. Saving these birds is a challenge because they migrate south to Latin America in the winter. And surprisingly, we donât know much about their migratory routeâ¦ or the migratory movements of many North Americaâs most familiar birds. If we donât know where migratory birds spend the winter or how they get there, how can we protect them? To help her precious flycatchers, Mary has joined a cutting-edge effort called the Bird Genoscape Project (BGP). Led by Kristen Ruegg and Tom Smith, the BGP gathers data on birdsâ genomes from individual feathers, allowing the researchers to connect breeding and wintering populations of the same species and provide critical information to conservationists and managers. Just as importantly, the project brings together researchers from all over the Americas in an effort to protect the birds that tie the Western Hemisphere together.

A world that will challenge him in many ways, not least of all, by asking if he can acceptâ his imperfections to become an effective advocate.

Hidden at a small liberal arts college in Pasadena, CA is the largest collection of Mexican birds in the World. Moore Laboratory of Zoology has more than 65,000 Mexican bird specimens, most of which were collected by a single man named Chester Lamb from 1920s to the 1950s. This collection represents a snapshot in time of what Mexico’s bird fauna looked like before the country went through its major industrial revolution. Using this one-of-a-kind collection, Moore Lab curator John McCormack is walking in Lamb's footsteps to find out how and why Mexico’s bird fauna are changing and adapting. Voice Above Water is the story of Wayan Nyo, a 90 year old fisherman who can no longer fish because of the amount of plastic piling up in the ocean. Instead he uses his fishing boat and net to pull trash from the water in hopes of being able to fish again.

In sharing Colleen's perspective, we are given a glimpse into native views on issues of water resource management, which are often missing from larger discussions of western water challenges.
