Today's society with its economic system is extremely dependent on consumption. The more the better. The pinnacle of this irrational consumption is right before Christmas, the time in which we show how much we love each other by the value of our presents. That's where the freeride adventure starts, a group of freeriders, who want to get away from this hectic period. Therefore they decide to go on a "simple life" road trip, where they have a time-out from this excessive consumption. No smartphones, No Social-Media on the whole trip, just precious moments with each other by living the moment. Time becomes irrelevant and you start to become a bit more of yourself day by day. Hit by the huge snowstorm in Jannuary 2019 in Austria, they couldn't have had a better time! It was too good to leave. That's why they stayed...until the day after the Storm

A Miami native, David knows glitzâbut he shuns it as part of a small, gritty band of kayak fishermen who forsake flashy boats for utilitarian pieces of plastic to pursue their passion. High seas, storms, even capsizing don't deter David from exhaustive encounters with prehistoric fishâand he learns in the process how little he needs to be content.

Introducing Made Back East, a natively New England ski film. A Vagrants original, in partnership with Parlor Skis and presented by Life is Good, that explores the love affair with backcountry skiing in our own backyard. The ski community refers to our home as “back east”. Assuming that anybody who grew up skiing here would eventually find their way out West. But to us, that assumes too much. The mark of a true New England skier is a deep appreciation for the bad days just as much as the good ones. As they say “if you can ski the northeast, you can ski anywhere”. In this film, we follow six diehard skiers on a trip into the woods seeking that perfect window where everything comes together.&nbsp;

On April of 2019 a group of friends form Argentine Patagonia take on a trip to Alaska to fulfill their lifelong dream. There, they'll find themselves in the vast white snowfields, their fears, joys and the simplicity to know a mythical place.

Matanuska

Todd Scharf, a lifelong spey fishing guide, relocates his business and family to the northern frontier of British Columbia to chase the one of the most sought after fish - the Steelhead. At an early age, Todd was obsessed with Steelhead and could not veer away from the inevitable fact that hunting for them would be his lifelong career. He decided to move to Terrace to chase the biggest and baddest salmonid species to open up a new door of adventure for his clients that he considers family. 10 years later, he has settled into his new environment and understands the water he fishes better than anyone. The sacrifice he made to move up north has paid off as he is constantly finding new opportunities in the unknown waters of the remote northern frontier of British Columbia. Todd now questions himself on if the reason for moving north wasnât a pull from the fish but perhaps an escape from the craziness of the urban world.

Northbound

The Boundary Waters, Americaâs most visited wilderness area, is currently facing a dire and harrowing threat to its pristine beauty. The toxic endeavor of sulfide-ore mining has been proposed by a Chilean company with a track record of disasters and fines. A single mine along the watershed could potentially pollute the area for the next five centuries. In the history of this type of mining, pollution has never been avoided. The film A Northern Light follows Riverhorse Nakadate as he makes his way by canoe through endless miles of wilderness to celebrate the stunning and surreal lakes and forests, illuminate and juxtapose the serious and perilous threats at hand, and to show a deep poetic reverence to the last remaining places of incomparable beauty. Riverhorse uses his personal journals to narrate the film with sensual and candid reflections of the journey while traversing the achingly beautiful terrain. A Northern Light explores how wilderness is everything in lifeâequal parts restorative, healing, inspiring, and bewildering. And perhaps most importantly, how nature is where we make sense of life, love, and our place within it.

Using water resources to generate energy is one of its pillars for the future, even if this means paying too high a price. Four kayakers set out to descend the fierce waters of the Karnali, as part of an expedition to one of the country's most remote and extreme rivers, with the intention of learning and enjoying the hidden secrets of this sacred river, before the lack of human consciousness destroys them forever.

"Waveforms" is a short film documenting snowsurfing's surf-inspired roots and what developed into a way of living in the snowy mountains Japan. Snowsurfing began in the U.S. as surfers searched for a way to replicate the feeling of surfing but on snow. What was called snowsurfing became known as snowboarding and became dominated by the influence of skateboarding rather than surf. Meanwhile, snowsurfing began developing in the snowy mountains of Japan after Shinzo Tanuma became inspired by the early snowsurfers of America. In Japan, snowsurfing evolved into a lifestyle, a means to connect with nature and find peace in ones life.
