Synopsis: Cuban street artists are having their moment. Their own fight against the countries harsh censorship laws have recently made international headlines. Fabian is one of the movement’s fearless and prolific leaders. You cannot walk for more than a few blocks without seeing his character, the Supermalo or his signature 2+2=5? painted on the crumbling walls of Havana. SUPERMALO follows Fabian's development as an artist over the course of two years. The film explores the struggles of creating work in his home country of Cuba, and documents his first time ever leaving the island to exhibit his artwork internationally in Paris.


Director's Bio: Matt Seger is a 28 year old filmmaker, living in Brooklyn, New York. His documentary work focuses on music, art and sub-culture. He’s the co-founder of Underhill Productions, a production company and collective of young filmmakers based in New York City. Matt’s films are typically character driven stories, capturing real moments with a focused cinematic perspective. His passion for music and art inspire his work from both the narratives told, to the filmmaking techniques and approach. His work can be viewed on platforms like The Atlantic, PBS, Vice, Condé Nast, Spotify, The Fader, I-D Mag, CNN and more.
