Synopsis: October 27, 2020 was the second night of protests in Philadelphia over the killing of Walter Wallace, Jr. He had a bipolar episode and was shot by cops. A black man, Wallace died with 12 bullets in his body in front of his mother. Unlike many protest documentaries that take a step back, this one seeks to make the viewer feel as if they exist in the space in the tradition of docs like Medium Cool or Punishment Park. Director's Bio: Hannah Price (b. 1986, she/her) is a photographic artist and filmmaker primarily interested in documenting relationships, race politics, perception and misperception. Price is internationally known for City of Brotherly Love (2009-2012), a series of photographs of the men who catcalled her on the streets of Philadelphia. In 2014, Price graduated from the Yale School of Art MFA, receiving the Richard Benson Prize for excellence in photography. Price’s photos have been displayed in cities across the US with a few in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She is one of five 2020 Magnum Photo Nominees.

With unprecedented access within a sensitive conflict-zone, HUNGER WARD reveals the bravery of deeply committed doctors working in the middle of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Director's Bio: Skye Fitzgerald founded Spin Film to bear witness to unfolding crises with the intent to deepen empathy and understanding. Director's Bio: Co-founder of ML-NEBULA, Quincy G. Ledbetter is a filmmaker, musician, photographer, and artist from Brooklyn, New York by way of Woodbridge, Virginia. He has worked with notable organizations such as BET Networks, Paramount Players, NPR, Color of Change, Mashable, Mic.com, HuffPost, Vox, and The New York Times. Quincy has won an Edward Murrow Award and a ASME Ellie Award (2018), an Emmy Nomination for Short Format Daytime Program (2017), and a Webby Award (2016 and 2021). The Black Disquisition

A film about the conversation that all Black parents must eventually have with their children.

Synopsis: THE BOX is a hybrid short film that combines documentary, stop-motion animation, and cinematic vignettes to immerse our audience in the world of solitary confinement. We interview three people who have spent a combined 9 years in solitary, one of whom is of the two directors of the film, James Burns. All three stories are told at the same time and progressively build onto one another, each subject telling a different chapter from the same book. This is a story about the value of human connection and a group of survivors who lost everything but found light in the darkness. We see how they ended up in solitary, how that experience brought them to the darkest place imaginable, and how they struggled against all odds to find freedom and a meaningful life on the outside. Director's Bio: James Burns is an award-winning director and producer whose approach to storytelling is both character-driven and conceptual. Shal Ngo is a Vietnamese-American filmmaker who has trouble defining himself in two sentences. He writes and directs science fiction, stop-motion animation, and documentary films.
