In the Basement There's Some Money is a class-conscious parable of wealth distribution refracted through the experience of three cousins - rich, middle class, and poor - who let their greed get the best of them after a letter from their grandfather offers no directions of how to split up his money.

Despite the contrasting financial status of the cousins, each one believes they are entitled to a larger share of the inheritance. Richard, because he’s broke. Joan, because she has kids and lives in the Bay Area. Luke, because he is already independently wealthy, so that must mean he knows how to manage money ...

Ultimately, as often seen in life, the wealthy call the shots and the poor are asked to get in line. In the Basement There's Some Money offers a tough look at wealth inequality, financial literacy, the consequences of chance, and what happens when everybody is right and everybody is wrong.
