Wales × South Africa Shorts

Created through the WOW (WOW Wales One World Film Festival) × DIFF (Durban International Film Festival) collaboration, this co-curated short films programme brings together emerging filmmakers and underrepresented voices from Wales and South Africa in a vibrant cross-continental dialogue.


Spanning a rich range of styles, stories and perspectives, the selection showcases bold new talent and explores the power of short film to connect communities across borders. Expect an exciting mix of tones, aesthetics and filmmaking approaches, offering fresh insights into contemporary life, identity and culture.


Originally presented as a special live screening in Wales, this programme is now available online for a limited 10-day streaming window, giving audiences around Europe the opportunity to discover these remarkable films.

Wedi’i chreu drwy gydweithrediad WOW (Gŵyl Ffilm WOW Cymru Un Byd) × DIFF (Gŵyl Ffilm Ryngwladol Durban), mae’r rhaglen hon o ffilmiau byrion a gyd-guradwyd yn dod â gwneuthurwyr ffilmiau sy’n datblygu a lleisiau sydd wedi’u tangynrychioli ynghyd o Gymru a De Affrica mewn deialog fywiog draws-gyfandirol.


Gan ymestyn ar draws ystod gyfoethog o arddulliau, straeon a safbwyntiau, mae’r detholiad yn arddangos talent newydd feiddgar ac yn archwilio grym y ffilm fer i gysylltu cymunedau ar draws ffiniau. Disgwyliwch gymysgedd cyffrous o naws, estheteg a dulliau gwneud ffilmiau, gan gynnig safbwyntiau ffres ar fywyd cyfoes, hunaniaeth a diwylliant.
