After years of dedicated work as a sheep guide in the remote mountains of the Northwest Territories, Rachel Athila is rewarded with her first Dall sheep hunt. It's her dream, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; and choosing a hunting partner for this ten day hunt could mean the difference between success and failure in the harsh and unforgiving Canadian wilderness. Now climate change is rapidly accelerating environmental shifts and causing some of these spectacular blues to vanish.Losing Blue&nbsp;is an expansive metaphor for the massive and subtle impacts of climate change. With stunning cinematography, the film immerses viewers in the magnificence of lakes so rare that most have never seen them, pulling us in so that we experience these bodies of water as if we were standing alone on their rocky shores—witnesses to their power and acutely aware of what their loss would mean, both for ourselves and for the Earth.Filmmaker Leanne Allison’s narration intimately balances J.B. During the Pandemic in 2020, I had the opportunity to experience Fishing for Arctic Char, on the World-famous Tree River in Nunavut, during a Special NWT Residents only Staycation Fly-in Opportunity. Growing up in Southern Ontario, I learned how to fish chasing migratory Trout and Salmon, along the tributaries of Lake Ontario. Arctic Char, are the most prestigious of all migratory fish and on this episode, I set out with a good friend, on a last-minute overnight fly-in, Self-Guided back pack fishing adventure, in search of the holy grail of Char, in full spawning colors, while surviving a night on the Barren Lands in the pouring rain, in a tiny little tent, with the Grizzly Bears!
