Three gentlemen share an all-too-familiar story, about the day to day deplorable conditions our New York City Housing Authority residents endure. In particular, this young black man, “Marcus”, is living in a home where mold decorates the walls, where kitchen stoves click like clocks, but the fire that cooks never turns on in time. As we follow along through Marcus’s story, we begin to ask ourselves, rhetorically, “how did these conditions come about”. And it is then we realize these conditions were curated by the systemic oppression of this nation’s history. His story is our history.
