ENGLosing My Body was the final project of my first year at the National Film School of Ireland (IADT) - It's a personal story about coming to terms with being who I have become. The film explores the struggle to live and accept the person I am, with all its faults, and to find a way to move on, even when it seems impossible to shake off the pain of the past. It's about accepting my body, even if it sometimes feels like I'm losing it. LVFilma “Mana ķermeņa zaudējums” bija mana pirmā kursa noslēguma projekts Īrijas Nacionālajā kino skolā (IADT) - tas ir personisks stāsts par samierināšanos ar to, par ko esmu kļuvusi. Filma pēta cīņu dzīvot un pieņemt sevi, kāds esmu, ar visām tā nepilnībām, un atrast veidu, kā dzīvot tālāk, pat tad, kad šķiet neiespējami atbrīvoties no pagātnes sāpēm. Tā ir par to, kā pieņemt savu ķermeni, pat ja reizēm šķiet, ka es to zaudēju.

The exhausting healing process takes us on an inner journey full of pain, fragility and mental unrest, in which even superstition and witchcraft seem to have an influence on recovery. ENGBody-oddy-oddy-oddy: Destabilizing the Surveilling of Queer Bodies explores the nature of how we understand our bodies, the ways in which we “queer” the body, and performative nature of how we explore our identities in mediated space. The work challenges the supremacy of normative human body-to-body contact, by exploring the role that a hybrid human-object-virtual encounter might pose for alternative forms of intimacy and exchange. The use of self-surveillance as a strategy of making and being is critical to our understanding of contemporary bodily experiences in the piece. The lens, the camera, video as both electronic mirror and surveyor, the scanner, generative A.I., and motion capture technology construct the performance of identity—who we are as hybrids and how we exploit our self-awareness and positions. Through the act of making this work, we aim to disrupt the hegemony of stable bodies in search of what might be greater potential. “Breaking” the intentions of the software and hardware specifications, and revealing the tools of its making, we blast open possibility for new rules and new narratives. The future is undoubtedly queer, and it’s one hell of a party. Pašnovērošanas kā radīšanas un esības stratēģijas izmantošana ir izšķiroša mūsu izpratnei par mūsdienu ķermeņa pieredzi šajā darbā. Objektīvs, kamera, video kā elektroniskais spogulis un novērotājs, skeneris, ģeneratīvais mākslīgais intelekts un kustību uztveršanas tehnoloģija konstruē identitātes performanci - kas mēs esam kā hibrīdi un kā mēs izmantojam savu pašapziņu un pozīcijas. Veidojot šo darbu, mēs cenšamies izjaukt stabilu ķermeņu hegemoniju, meklējot lielāko potenciālu. “Pārkāpjot” programmatūras un aparatūras specifikāciju nodomus un atklājot tās izgatavošanas rīkus, mēs atveram iespēju jauniem noteikumiem un jauniem naratīviem. ENGAfter the established diagnosis and the initial fear of its development, Ivan Faktor decided to visualize his own state with Parkinson's disease with a mobile phone camera. After 50 years of filmmaking, his passion for art and life is still here. He is filming himself, his wife, the yard, the street, the studio, and above all the light attractions in his house. Faktor records everyday life but disrupts the daily structure by intervening in reality using light attractions or optical obstacles like his own trembling fingers. Through interventions in documentary situations, he creates a surprising inner world of an artist imprisoned in space. Over time, this recording method produced a therapeutic effect for Faktor, and he copes more positively with the progressive disease. He thinks about his film during the day, and shoots at night when everything is quiet, so even the sound we hear reveals the unnaturalness of his movement.
