She was born and raised in Beirut Lebanon. She is a two-time award-winning actress in international theatre festivals in Cairo Egypt and Fez Morocco. After the Port explosion that took place in Beirut on August 4, 2020, Rahme moved to USA. She is a full time Director and Cinematographer at a marketing agency in Detroit.

A young Nubian girl embarks on a journey back in time to reconnect with her drowned homeland. Guided by the Nile egret, she travels underwater within the lake created by Egypt's Aswan High Dam to visit Nubia's mountains and palm trees, water wheels and houses, men and women. She bids farewell to her people as they board the boats that will take them to their resettlement villages. Returning to her own time, she carries the strength of knowing that Nubia will always live on inside her. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from New York University and is a graduate of its renowned Culture and Media program in ethnographic film theory and production. Yasmin grew up in Egypt and currently lives in the US, where she is a professor of anthropology at the University of Michigan.

When I was a child, my grandmother would tell me stories of longing and loss of relatives during desert travels and sea voyages. Now I am an adult, her words finally make sense to me. About the Filmmaker<img src="https://filmfreeway-production-storage-01-storage.filmfreeway.com/press_kits/headshots/001/796/734/original/b63ddb39e8-headshot.jpg?1618836138" width="244">Maysaa Almumin was born in Kuwait, lived in the UK, and currently resides in Qatar. She is the writer, director, and producer of several short films, including ‘...And I Am Left Behind’, which was made in participation with Rithy Panh’s Doha Film Institute Documentary Lab in 2021, and 'J’ai le Cafard' (Bint Werdan), which was awarded production grants from the Arab Fund for Art and Culture and the Doha Film Institute, premiering at the 2020 Malmö Arab Film Festival in Sweden. Maysaa is also an actor and has performed in numerous short films made by up-and-coming Arab directors, including the award-winning 'Sh’hab' and 'Black Veil’. Maysaa is currently developing her first feature film, 'Good Grief', which follows the story of a middle-aged unmarried Arab woman, attempting to exist on the margins of a conservative Arab society.

When Aziza finally shares a recurring dream, it’s what she leaves unsaid that reveals her fractured sense of self. Aziza’s dream – in which she must sing a song – takes her on a journey through the post-industrial hills of the American Rust Belt, the eternal fields of Egypt, and the most repressed parts of her mind. About the Filmmakers<img src="https://filmfreeway-production-storage-01-storage.filmfreeway.com/press_kits/headshots/002/281/173/original/0a0224d5c9-headshot.jpg?1689729170" width="230"> Lily &amp; Ahmed are a married independent filmmaking duo based in Pittsburgh, PA. Lily – American, Russian, and Armenian – grew up between Washington, D.C., and Cairo, Egypt. Ahmed – Egyptian, Dutch, and American – was born and raised in Cairo. Their work emphasizes identity and place, highlighting feminism, cultural dislocation, and domestic relationships. Their films are noted for their use of voiceover narration and mixed media. Their work has screened at festivals around the world including Arab Film &amp; Media Institute’s Arab Film Festival and Uppsala Short Film Festival (where they were nominated for the Ingmar Bergman Award). Together, they founded the production company Studio Ragheb.

She Sings

From my room in Paris, in exile, after 7 years far from home in Syria, far from my father who remains alone, with the ghosts of the past and the lost future – as he always tells me – I started recording our telephone conversations over the Internet. This film is a personal investigation into the Syrian experience and the relationship between exile and homeland, between my father and me, the stranger abroad and the stranger within. All that brings us together is a jerky sound through which we try to be together. About the Filmmaker<img src="https://filmfreeway-production-storage-01-storage.filmfreeway.com/press_kits/headshots/002/526/736/original/3bfd0f01b8-headshot.jpg?1713450187" width="162"> Sara Kontar (born in 1996) is a Syrian artist, filmmaker, and photographer who has been based in France since 2016, having graduated from ENSAD. Her cinematic work was showcased at the Centre Pompidou in 2022 and at the Palais de Tokyo in 2023. In 2021, she founded Al-Ayoun, a platform for visual storytellers in Syria. Through her films, she explores themes of exile, human emotions, identity, body language, and testimonials, aiming to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals in similar situations.

Following a violent incident, Eissa, a 17-year-old African migrant in Egypt, strives to beat the clock to save his loved ones whatever it takes. About the Filmmaker<img src="https://filmfreeway-production-storage-01-storage.filmfreeway.com/press_kits/headshots/002/331/576/original/71f80c9156-headshot.jpg?1681334498" width="192"> Morad; an Egyptian Filmmaker, born in Cairo; 1988. He worked in several independent films; and collaborated as an Executive Director in "SOUAD" and it was in the official selection in "Cannes Film Festival" 2020, Morad is an alumni of the "Berlinale Talents Campus" and "Locarno Academy". He wrote and directed three short films all of them were selected in "Clermont-Ferrand" in three consecutive years and were screened in more than 300 festivals worldwide and won several awards. His latest short film "I PROMISE YOU PARADISE" is selected in Cannes Film Festival "Critics Week" 2023. Morad is currently developing his debut feature film "Aisha can't fly away anymore" in "Cinéfondation" the residency of Cannes Film Festival and also in Torino Film Lab and Rotterdam Lab IFFR.
