
Through a mix of narrative, documentary and experimental shorts produced all around the world, we present seven stories chronicling the struggles faced by Iraqis over the past 50 years. From the Iraq-Iran War to Desert Storm to ISIS and the persecution of the Yazidi people, these films offer us windows into a world that many of us don't see.

Childhood friends, who's seemingly playful road trip belies the difficult route ahead, find their friendship forever altered by the final stop.
During the 1984 Iran/Iraq war, Hassan, Ahmed, and Muneer must go to a military base to identify their childhood best friend's body. Based on a true story.
About the filmmaker:
Ramiel Petros is a first generation Iraqi-American writer/director based in NYC. Ramiel is a narrative director who fiercely believes in the power filmmaking has to depict universal narratives through diverse lenses. He is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts majoring in Film & Television, where his thesis film was a semi-finalist for the Student Academy Awards, and shortlisted for the Student BAFTA Awards. Ramiel is the recipient of the Akhtar-Bhutta production award, the Russell Hexter filmmaker grant, the Thomas William Gidro-Frank, and the Pond5 filmmakers first award. He is currently a Creative Culture Fellow at the Jacob Burns FIlm Center.
