Dmitry and Zhenya are Russians living in New York on expired visas, with their seven-month-old daughter, Dasha. Dasha was born in the U.S. and is a citizen. One night, when the baby has an accident, Zhenya wants to take her to the hospital, but Dmitry is reluctant, fearing they'll be separated and deported.

Director’s Statement: Gleb Osatinski

I’m drawn to the concept of perpetual cycles, psychological barriers, an illusion of entrapment, and inevitability; of how people project their emotions and disillusionments while attempting to escape from them. I want to show different sides of human nature by exploring family relationships, highlighting how vulnerable these can become and how complex people are, often caught in a world of their own creation that they believe exists for their own safety, but actually limits them.
