Palm Springs. Every stuck-in-a-time-loop film is about a character slowly learning a lesson until they break free. But what about thosestuck in the loop with them? Our dark comedy features a couple plunged into a relationship crisis neither could have imagined: getting stuck in a homicidal time loop. The trick is… the partner who caused it doesn’t even realize they’re in a loop at all. I wrote “This Feels Right” to explore agency within a relationship - what can one do when your partner cannot see the truth? We've all had a relationship to someone who just. Never. Changed. It hurts to watch. It's awful when you're in it. I created this short to explore what it's like to be stuck in exactly that kind of relationship. The agony of seeing something's wrong, but being powerless to do a thing about it. Thank you for your time, and enjoy the film!

‘MOVER’ is a short narrative dance film exploring heartbreak and healing over the course of a dreamlike apartment move. Part of our Short Narratives 1: PEOPLE &amp; THE ARTS Program <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/3740b8bf3a985868859f12dc35157fce.jpg" width="268">Director Jackson Jarvis Director's Statement:Letting go is hard. As humans, we cling desperately to our possessions, our living spaces, our loved ones. Even the smallest thing has a gravitational pull. Even the smallest moment weighs heavy. So when they are taken away, what are we left with? Moving is also hard, from a practical perspective. If you do it yourself, it’s nothing short of a physical battle, and if you’re not careful--your things, your feelings, your heart--can get broken along the way. We have a tendency to wrap ourselves in emotional bubble wrap to avoid getting hurt, which would explain why the first reaction to grief is often denial. In the film, Sam vehemently tries to deny that change is coming. It’s only when everything is gone that she accepts what has happened. Even then, she finds a tiny flower and clings to it for a moment. Flawed humans, we. We shot ‘Mover’ over a single weekend in a small Brooklyn apartment on Hart Street, a fitting name in my opinion. Despite the short shooting schedule, I experienced a type of mild grief and nostalgia towards that space, that time, and those people involved. When we wrapped, repainted the walls, closed boxes, closed doors, and said goodbye to each other, I felt a little like Sam: melancholic, but moving forward. And instead of a little flower I cling to, it’s a Vimeo link. Please enjoy the film and remember: the word “alone” comes from “all one". I think there's something comforting in that.

Connolly Director's Statement:K.C. Connelly is an Irish writer of strength and excitement whose words give life to the downtrodden, dispossessed, and those living in the dire, bleak margins of society. His technique, style, and narrative center on the short story form, which he effectively employs to search the souls of those who have chosen other modes of existence, where most of us dare not venture. Working for Invisible Pictures in script development, he has attained valuable experience in the film world evaluating, reviewing, editing, and rewriting over 150 scripts for the screen. Recently, he wrote a short, "The Light in Shanroe" on mental health in Ireland, and finished his first feature film titled "A Soldier of Bright Colors."

It's an exercise in understanding and forgiveness as it shifts perspective from the young girl to her mother, inviting the audience to reconfigure their emotional alignment throughout the course of the story. I want this film to serve as a love letter and homage to my mother, and to mothers everywhere who are doing the best they can.

Under the direction of Charles Burnett, he also participated as an actor in the 2016 Austin Film Society Artist Intensive. Frank's recent starring work in FREELAND (SXSW 2020) has been called "excellent...compellingly slippery" (The Hollywood Reporter), "effortless and natural...his depth adds richness to the film's world" (The Seventh Row), and that he's a "dependably fantastic American indie mainstay" (Filmmaker Magazine). Mosley is a major cinematic voice.” HUGO DE SOUSA is a Los Angeles based actor and filmmaker. Upon finishing college in his home country of Portugal, he moved to New York where he studied under the guidance of Carol Rosenfeld in one of the most prestigious acting studios in the country, HB Studio, home to the late legendary teacher, Uta Hagen. He has since been working exclusively in the independent world, landing breakout leading roles in films such as I Am Good, We Used to Know Each Other, where Hugo was called "exceptionally insightful" (Film Threat), and Mister Limbo (Fantaspoa, Chattanooga 2021), of which Nightmarish Conjurings wrote: "De Sousa particularly stood out... the entire scene relies on his acting and he kills it." Most recently, he starred in the international co-production Everything in the End (Cinequest, PIFF, BendFilm, CIFF 2021), where his role was call "phenomenal... De Sousa carries the film" (Disappointment Media).
