Just like ancient murals, a painting consisting of several individual canvases has a story to tell–the story of a small eel who desires to become something greater than itself.


MEET THE FILMMAKER: NA KYUNG KIM

Na Kyung Kim is an Illustrator and Animator currently based in LA. She grew up in Seoul, Korea, and moved to the United States for her college education. Having two distinctly different cultural backgrounds, she is interested in capturing ambivalent emotions one feels toward one’s past and future. She received her BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design in 2017 and is currently an MFA student in the Experimental Animation program at the California Institute of the Arts.
