MEET THE FILMMAKERS: KATRINA SORRENTINO & ANDREA PATIÑO CONTRERAS

Katrina Lillian Sorrentino is a visual artist and documentary filmmaker. Crossing Over, her documentary that tells the story of three translatina, political asylum seekers, was picked up by Participant Media and Univision as part of their "Panoramica" series and won a GLAAD award for Outstanding Documentary in 2015. She received an MFA from ICP in 2016 and is a 2019-2020 International Artist in Residence at ENSP in Arles, France.


Andrea Patiño Contreras is an Emmy-nominated video journalist from Bogotá, Colombia. She is based in Boston where she produces, shoots and edits short documentaries. Her work has been recognized by the Hillman Foundation, the Webby Awards, the Gracie Awards and Picture of the Year International.
