Born from a large-scale interactive flipbook, Humans Build The Biggest Nests is a film describing the complex relations of species in the Anthropocene. Combining loose drawings and crisp circles, the looping narratives are linked through conflict and collaboration. By overlapping the activities of humans, Canada Geese, invasive Phragmites plants, white-tailed deer, squirrels, dandelions, ticks, trees, bacterial disease, turtles, mice and turkey vultures, our entanglement and outsized impact on ecology is clear.

In Echoes of the Ice, Inuk filmmaker &amp; Indigenous Geographic Co-founder Crystal Martin embarks on a journey to Iqaluit during late spring to delve into contemporary Inuit life and the profound impacts of climate change. From sharing a traditional meal with family to traveling with Inuit hunters to the iconic floe edge—a hub for traditional hunting and community connection—Crystal experiences firsthand the challenges and resilience of Arctic life. As hunters share their deep knowledge of the land and sea, Crystal joins in a moment of cultural exchange through throat singing, embodying themes of adaptation and cultural survival. Back in Iqaluit, she explores the town's vibrant blend of tradition and modernity, meeting elders and youth who reveal how climate change affects every aspect of their lives. Through these powerful stories, Echoes of the Ice celebrates the strength and spirit of acommunity navigating an uncertain future.

Echoes of the Ice

Journey of Water features Heather MacIntyre, an Indigenous Health and Wellness Coach of the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The film explores the journey of water within the town of The Blue Mountains, located at the UNESCO Biosphere area of the Niagara Escarpment and the pressures on preserving it for generations to come, within increased development. A reflection on this moment of time and the choices we have to take care of the water for the future.
