As Sara and David are preparing for a dinner to impress David's new bosses, an insignificant detail enrages David. It is not the first time he has hit her. After this violence, Sara must hide her pain and continue to act as host for the night, testing the façade that she and David have created to hide reality. She studied Fine Arts at the UPV and studied film at the Institute of Cinema of Madrid. Since 2010 she has directed several short films. Sunday afternoon, So sweet, Birthday. In 2019 the trilogy 16, 26, 36 begins. She directs in 2019 16 and in 2020 26. In 2021 the trilogy culminates with the production of 36. In parallel, she develops her career as a Casting director. She is currently preparing her debut feature "Everything I don't know".

A dinner at home turns into another nightmarish day for Sara.

Thursday is a portrait of a woman in Poland on the day she chooses to do a secret medical abortion at home. We follow Maria, an actress, as she goes about her day as “normally” as possible after taking abortion pills, all while hiding that she is in the middle of a very intimate and lonely experience. The script is based on the stories of real Polish women shared during interviews with writer/director Bren Cukier. Director's Bio:<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/f7153864d9fce7f15d2a5bf3d3a5a608.jpg" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 0px 1em 1em;" width="169">Bren Cukier is a film director with an academic background in journalism and documentary studies. THURSDAY is her first narrative short. Her work blends elements of both types of filmmaking, along with her experience in fashion and art photography, to create nuanced portraits of complex characters in a visually compelling way. Bren is currently in development with her first feature THIRD GEN and is based in Los Angeles.

Her short film debut “Sannes Birthday” won the audience award at Oregon film festival in Copenhagen 2012. In 2014 she made the film “Closed Eyes” travelling into the mind of a woman trying to cope with her boyfriend’s cancer. The film was one of three nominated films at Shnit OPEN 2014 and was screened at many other festivals. Her shortfilms “The Elephant” and “A stone Falls Slowly” toured festivals last year, among them Nordisk Panorama and Karlovy Vary IFF. In June 2020 Kerren finished her degree at The Norwegian Film school in Lillehammer. Her graduation film is currently short listed for student Oscar.
