AUTOSCOPY

A loner retreats to a remote log cabin in Sweden to record music. The discovery of an old flotation tank and psilocybin mushrooms takes him on a voyage deep into the heart of nature and, ultimately, himself.

Director Bio

Claes is a Swedish filmmaker working out of London, UK. To date mostly known for his work in music videos for artists such as Parquet Courts & Steve Gunn. There is a wry and unhurried sensibility in the work, a visible interest in leaving space for spontaneity and ‘the unexpected’ when directing (often non-actors) in isolated and unusual locations. His narrative project ‘Autoscopy’ which was completed in 2020 as a short is also part of a feature-length project which is currently in development. His work has been featured widely in online music & arts publications such as Pitchfork and Rolling Stone.
