A FRAGMENTED QUARANTINE DREAM
A night in the life of Quarantine 2020 was captured. A tiny destination ski town, nestled in mountains had completely shut down. All businesses closed; the streets sat empty. During this initial stage of global pandemic, much was unknown. There is a bittersweet feeling of delight and fantastical sense of disbelief. In this suspended reality, I danced.

THE SOUND OF A WILD SNAIL EATING


When a woman is bedridden by a mysterious pathogen, a snail unexpectedly takes up residence on her nightstand. An interspecies relationship develops between woman and snail as they share a journey of survival and resilience. Their captivating and graceful explorations expand the boundaries of the bedroom.


An intimate and surprising live-action true story, adapted from a memoir of the same title.


Director Bio

Elisabeth Tova wrote and directed the short film The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating, adapting it from her nonfiction memoir of the same title. The film won a Jackson Wild Media Award, a New England Director's Award 1st Prize, Flicker's Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the Best International Short Award at the Kerry Film Festival. Her memoir is available in ten languages and received the William Saroyan International Prize for Nonfiction, the John Burroughs Medal Award for Distinguished Natural History, a National Outdoor Book Award in Natural History Literature. Bailey lives in Maine.
