She is most inspired by the inherent and beautiful imperfections in the human condition. We all have an innate truth desperate to be discovered. And so her films seek to move and inspire audiences to go deep inside their souls. She relishes in the challenge of crafting enticing STORY, be it fact or fiction, and believes that it is through understanding raw character that gets you there. Julia spent just under a decade working in development at FremantleMedia and RadicalMedia before going independent and telling her own stories. In 2015 she set up Southern Point Pictures and has 3 lauded shorts and an award-winning screenplay under her belt. Julia has a filmmaking diploma from The New York Film Academy, and an MBA and Masters in Global Governance from the University of Oxford. Her film, My Father the Mover, won the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary Short at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2020, was nominated for a prestigious Critics Choice Award, and was acquired by MTV Studios. She is currently packaging her narrative feature, Huberta; and in post on her debut documentary feature, Coming Home.

Brian Tovey may be the last traditional poacher in England. An antihero of conservation and nature, Brian's outlook is anti-establishment and his way of life is almost off the grid, tucked away in a village on the edge of the English Cotswolds. He roams his surrounding fields and woods, illegally hunting for game on private estates belonging to wealthy landowners, an almost ethereal existence that clings to the age-old conflict between common and forest law. THE LAST ENGLISH POACHER is an unexpected elegy to England's changing rural communities, and our diminishing connection to the land. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/418de0c6a100de379d4f7c16e37e4f4b.jpg" width="252" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 1em 1em 0px;">Emma Crome is a producer and filmmaker for Coldhouse Collective Ltd, making documentaries and creative campaigns for outdoor brands. When not working on commercial projects, Emma’s passion is in storytelling around the natural world. She is currently developing a film campaign looking at the issues surrounding nature and our human connection to the land in the UK.

THE LAST ENGLISH POACHER

THE LAST ENGLISH POACHER is an exploration of our diminishing connection to the land, told through the experiences of an old poacher in rural England, and a conflict consigned to the history books.

THIS IS THE WAY WE RISE is an exploration into the creative process, following Native Hawaiian slam poet Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio as her calling to protect sacred sites atop Maunakea, Hawai`i reinvigorates her art. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/876f6088cca17d3dab77be0fe8b56a89.png" width="370" style="display: inline; margin: 0px 1em 1em 0px; float: left;">Ciara Lacy is a kanaka maoli (native Hawaiian) filmmaker, whose interest lies in crafting films that use strong characters and investigative journalism to challenge the creative and political status quo. Her work has shown at festivals around the world including Sundance and Berlinale as well as on Netflix, PBS, ABC, Al Jazeera, and the Criterion Collection. In the digital space, she has created content for the Guardian and the Atlantic Online. She was the inaugural Sundance Institute Merata Mita Fellow as well as part of the inaugural class of NATIVe Fellows at the European Film Market. Ciara holds a BA in Psychology from Yale University and has given talks at academic institutions across the U.S. She continues to work on documentary content for broadcast and digital while also expanding her intimate style of filmmaking into the branded content, commercial, and animation spaces.

Yuval Mendelovich rescues abused pit bulls from dog fighting rings throughout Israel and the Palestinian Territories. But this life on the edge comes at a dark cost.

There are 8 clams living in a city's water system. The lives of millions of people depend on them. In case of contamination, the clams will close and automatically shut off the water to the city. The film is a philosophical essay on the dependence of people on nature and the world around them. In Polish with English subtitles <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/534922bf8bb184f679c181ed34c4f617.jpg" width="179" style="display: inline; margin: 0px 1em 1em 0px; float: left;">Julia Pelka is a Polish director and cinematographer born and living in Warsaw. She graduated from a MA in Cinematography from the Lodz Film School in 2012 and Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing. She won a prestigious scholarship of Minister of Culture and National Heritage for the most talented young artists, "Young Poland”. She received the artistic scholarship in the field of documentary from the Marshal of Warsaw City. She is a member of the Polish Filmmakers’ Association.

Byars’ latest film, PUBLIC TRUST, premiered atthe Big Sky Film Festival in 2020, where it won the juried Big Sky Award, and has over 2.4 million streams to date.
