Brian Tovey may be the last traditional poacher in England. An antihero of conservation and nature, Brian's outlook is anti-establishment and his way of life is almost off the grid, tucked away in a village on the edge of the English Cotswolds. He roams his surrounding fields and woods, illegally hunting for game on private estates belonging to wealthy landowners, an almost ethereal existence that clings to the age-old conflict between common and forest law. THE LAST ENGLISH POACHER is an unexpected elegy to England's changing rural communities, and our diminishing connection to the land.
Emma Crome is a producer and filmmaker for Coldhouse Collective Ltd, making documentaries and creative campaigns for outdoor brands. When not working on commercial projects, Emma’s passion is in storytelling around the natural world. She is currently developing a film campaign looking at the issues surrounding nature and our human connection to the land in the UK.
