The Best Canadian Film award recognizes the Canadian film which best meets CLiFF’s purpose of telling stories of workers, unionized and non-unionized, thorough film by sharing the voice of those who seek justice on the job and dignity in the workplace.

Attendees of this screening will vote to select the winner of the 2023 Best Canadian Labour Film.

The pandemic unearthed and exacerbated the endemic fault lines in our system. No paid sick days. Migrant worker deaths. Profit over the elderly in nursing homes. An unequal burden of disease on Black communities. A lack of power for workers to speak out.

In this documentary, the audience is exposed to point of view stories from workers on the front lines of the hardest hit sectors. Far beyond COVID, Fault Lines will have us questioning what our labour is worth. And what still needs to be fought for.
