Aileen is a teacher, currently ride sharing while her union resolves a strike. For her, driving is therapy. Her daughter is pregnant, her husband is ill. Life is drifting into a realm of uncertainty, and only her car frees her mind from the quarrels of everyday. But, one particular day's riders becomes a sudden reminder of how danger and the unexpected, is always one drive away.
Director Biography
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois - Harvey Pullings, II is an independent film director and screenwriter. A native of the city's Chatham and Roseland communities, Pullings is an alum of Columbia College Chicago and Moraine Valley Community College, having majored in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in Film and Advertising.
A lover of cinema, urban history and media, Pullings has won two Screenplay Awards for his most recent project, Thank you for the Ride Aileen. He recently received the Best Documentary prize at the United Artist International Film Festival for his documentary on Chicago neighborhoods and small businesses, 3 of 77. He is currently developing two feature length projects and an animated project intended for a 2026 production schedule.
Director Statement
The most interesting characters are the ones that you technically shouldn't like. Leave it to Beaver taught me that, with Eddie Haskell.
