A Cambodian American boxer faces a tough choice between pursuing his dream and supporting his family, while his cousin’s troubles put him in danger. “Donut Boy” is a gritty and realistic drama about the challenges of the immigrant experience.


Director - Bunthoeun Real

Bunthoeun Real is an award winning Cambodian American director and writer from Tacoma, Washington, who has developed a proficiency in storytelling. He graduated with an MFA degree at USC where he was and still is under the mentorship of Greg Yaitanes. He was awarded the prestigious Annenberg Graduate Fellowship for his work and is also a recipient of the Pickford Endowment Scholarship and the George Lucas Family Foundation Endowed Student Support Fund. Bunthoeun has not only been involved with many films at USC but has also done work on advertisement spots for the Fox TV show "Alter Ego," and an advertisement spot for the hit TV show, "The Boys" on Amazon Prime Video. He is always interested in capturing beauty in people and telling meaningful stories about family that breaks the barriers of colors and ethnicities, usually involving a kitchen and food. On his free time, he reads science fiction novels and loves trying different types of food at least once.
