Field Notes #2: Natures places one vision of nature—a cinematic one in which no humans can be seen—into the physical space of its antithesis. It brings together two profoundly human spaces that deal with nature in very different ways—the city street and the broadcast natural history program—and asks the viewer to consider the space between them.

This piece is from Field Notes, a series of eleven short films studying the place and meaning of nature in the Los Angeles area. Made during an artist residency in 2011 at the Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles.
