At a Halloween carnival, a young father steals a magician's rabbit to impress his ten year old son. The thrill of the petty theft quickly dissolves into reality when the young boy is tasked with getting himself, his father, and his new pet home safe.

She developed an interest in film after spending two years with RTÉ's Cor Na nÓg, where she visited sets and gained behind-the-scenes insights into productions. During her time in college, Lauren has written and directed the short film "Love Sick" and the documentary "Monumental Mystery," as well as produced several live TV segments. Director StatementAs a director and film student at DkIT, my fascination with the concept of identity and duality inspired me to create "Echo." The story follows Mia, a woman trapped in a monotonous life who discovers a mirror containing a version of herself with the power to switch places. This narrative allowed me to delve into themes of self-discovery, the allure of escapism, and the complexities of our personal agreements. "Echo" challenges viewers to consider the consequences of outsourcing our responsibilities and the potential dangers of tampering with our own reality. My aim is to create a thought-provoking experience that blends psychological suspense with emotional depth, inviting audiences to reflect on their own lives and choices.﻿

Director Biography -&nbsp;Austin Ford Franklin CulpBorn and raised in Amarillo, Texas, Austin moved to Austin (I know, I know) to pursue a career in film. After attending the University of Texas for Radio-Television-Film, he was hired by the Austin Film Society in 2012. Since then, he has been focused on marketing the 40-year-old film organization (founded by Richard Linklater), Texas-made projects, and the Austin film scene. He is passionate about telling stories about life in Texas and the South. His first short film, TITTY BOY, premiered at the Austin Film Festival in October 2023 (where it was nominated for Best Texas Short) and was an official selection in many other festivals, including the deadCenter Film Festival. Director StatementAs a teenager growing up in rural Texas with gynecomastia, things were a little rough! From bullying to shame and constantly trying to hide the problem, it was a day-to-day problem. I made this for anyone who has gone through a similar thing - bullying in school is relentless for those who aren't the same as others. I wanted to explore this story of my own with a little bit of comedy, because we have to laugh to get through the harder moments. I hope people can relate and enjoy the film.

After a bank robbery in a near by town, the sheriff picks up clues to the outlaws next target but the crime might be more than meets the eye. Director Biography Ian Wohlstadter, Fernando VeraztigueIan Wohlstadter and Fernando Veraztigue are two very talented young artists. On top of both being on the yearbook crew, playing sports and directing on campus clubs, Ian and Fernando spent the entirety of their Senior year at Thomas Downey High School working on the animated short film, "The Legend of Wild Wes". Ian and Fernando helped direct a team of about 25 students who all worked tirelessly to complete the film. They were so dedicated to creating something they could be proud of; they worked after school and spent many 10-hour days during the summer to complete it. I am extremely proud of these two young filmmakers, and I feel their film speaks for itself. Director StatementAfter hours of executive decision making, many texture glitches, and late-night renders, we’re proud to present The Legend of Wild Wes. Working on this project for a full year has been strenuous, but we’re so proud of the finished product. Being able to collectively determine the big steps for our main character has even helped us find meaning in our very own stories.
