Inner Wound Real is an animated documentary short about three BIPOC folks who self-injure, then find new ways to cope. The film has 3 different animators & styles, one for each participant. Each person finds healing through the arts, including acting, drawing, and tattooing. Animation allows us to bring the past into the present, and witness their feelings via stop-motion characters and hand-drawn illustrations.
