Shadows envelop this program, which features surreal tales of haunted houses, insomniac

hallucinations, nefarious corporations, and menacing creatures through animation, processed video, and 16mm film.

The piece was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic seen in a more exaggerated dystopian world with a focus on the growing generational divides that it has created. It was inspired by the way people responded to COVID-19 and imagines the aftermath of an event that would represent a reckoning day for our socio-political culture. Due to COVID-19, the film was shot with a skeleton cast and crew of only three people taking turns in different roles when not on camera. The science fiction short becomes also a form of documentation as the desolate backdrop of an empty city is both a set and the reality of the pandemic.
