Green Blood is the result of a collaborative investigation into the practices of three mining companies operating in Tanzania, India and Guatemala. During eight months, forty journalists from fifteen countries have continued the work of local journalists that has been threaten, jailed or killed as the result of their investigation into the environmental cost and rapid expansion of the mines.

This documentary is a behind-the-scenes account of this incredible collaboration.

The journalists of the Green Blood project gather in Paris for a confidential meeting marking the beginning of their collaboration. They reopen the investigation into the death of Jagendra Singh, an Indian journalist burned alive after revealing the links between a minister and the mafias controlling the sand market in India.

In Guatemala, the Mayan community in the village of El Estor denounces the pollution caused by the largest nickel mine in Central America. It all started when a red spot suddenly covered the lake near the mine. To investigate this mysterious contamination, members of the Green Blood project go to meet Car los Choc, a Mayan journalist prosecuted by the mine and who, in order to escape from prison, lives in hiding.
