Bittu, a fiercely independent young girl with a brilliantly foul tongue, always gets herself in trouble at school for defying authority. But when routine carelessness results in tragedy, the future may single-handedly depend on her.

Piercing in its depiction of a forgotten community who finds itself unable to protect its most vulnerable, and arresting in its vibrant portrayal of Bittu’s emotional world, Karishma Dube’s (DEVI, IFFLA 2017) latest film introduces us to a formidable young heroine who won’t allow herself to be forgotten.

A 2020 Student Academy Award Winner, BITTU was shortlisted for a 2021 Academy Award nomination.
