A tropical paradise, Sarangani is a province in the southernmost part of the Philippines. It is engulfed around the pristine waters of one of the country’s protected seascapes, the Sarangani Bay.

The video showcases Sarangani’s natural resources and tourist destinations, including landscapes, white sand beaches and diverse inland bodies of water. It also features the ethnic diversity of the area, showing a glimpse of the preserved and honoured indigenous cultures.

It presents a view of what tourists can enjoy when in Sarangani, such as its vibrant beach festivals and parties, water sports, white water rafting, scuba diving, paragliding, sightseeing, cultural immersions, etc. more. In addition, it boasts of the people’s efforts to keep Sarangani environmentally sustainable and clean.


Director Bio:


Representing Maasim, Sarangani, Michelle Lopez Solon is the chairperson of both the Sarangani Tourism Council and Socckskargen (Region 12) Tourism Council. She is also the wife of 2013 - present Sarangani Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon.


Michelle is a long-running tourism services expert and owns GO Sarangani Travel, a travel agency based in General Santos City. She is a UP graduate of tourism studies and is the forerunner of the sector in Sarangani.

Michelle is the festival director of both the Sarangani Bay Festival and the MunaTo Festival in Sarangani, significant celebrations in the province. In addition, she is highly involved in all tourism promotion videos and advertisements produced for Sarangani, from concept and script to production.


She has more than fifteen years of experience in live and multimedia productions.


Michelle became host to numerous stage and tv shows, including the cable show “Hanging Around Socckskargen”, in 2010, and was one of the pioneers of modern web content in the region. She is an exquisite voice talent, and her recordings can be heard in many of Sarangani’s promotional video materials online.

She is an advocate of creativity, environmental sustainability, culture, health, God-centred prosperity and homeschooling.


Today, Michelle frequently appears in webinars about tourism, women, and more. While off the camera, she homeschools two youngsters, is a full-time homemaker and helps parents educate their children at home on the side.
