Through physical activity and contact, ancestral tongue, creation of hand, dance, migration and reconnection to whenua, these stories express the inherent and immersive connection between us and our ties to the lands from which we come from. 


These shorts programs may differentiate from the shorts programs presented at our in-person festival screenings due to the various geoblocking restraints on each film.




In the Te Hākari wetlands, a young woman reconnects with her ancestral land. Created by Dolina Wehipeihana and Louise Pōtiki Bryant and filmed with Dolina's daughters, HINA honours the enduring bond between wāhine and whenua. 



Dolina Wehipeihana is a multifaceted dance artist whose career spans performance, choreography, producing, and arts leadership.


Louise Pōtiki Bryant is an award-winning artist who weaves dance, video, and animation to create immersive performances, artworks, and films.
