An urban docu western, Keiara is the only female member of the Compton Cowboys and aspires to become the first black female rider to compete in the national rodeo.


Director Statement:

This film is why I became a filmmaker, to tell stories with emotional impact that aim to show a reality with tenderness and love to the most affect. Keiara and all the Compton Cowboys provide a beautiful timely message for all of us. I hope we get to share it with the world with a premiere at a great festival.


Director Bio:

Floyd Russ last short film, ZION, premiered at Sundance where it was acquired by Netflix and went on to win two Emmys and was shortlisted for an Oscar. He moved to LA from Germany when he was 11 and studied film at UCLA.
