A young girl searches for answers to her father’s identity and the reason she was sent to foster care.
After escaping her abusive foster parents, a young girl stumbles upon information about her past that will change her life forever. Influence: While putting the power of love on display in this cinematic short film, the youth from the Maryvale Agency wanted to show us the traumatic burden cast upon children who've entered the foster care system due to no fault of their own.
This film was produced by a non-profit organization called Kids In The Spotlight (KITS) whose mission is to help foster youth confront, address, and overcome their trauma through the power of transformative filmmaking—opening the door to job opportunities, higher education, and providing them with the skills needed to become stable and productive members of society.
