Synopsis: Lilly, a 10-foot tall orange monster, babysits a human baby. The mom leaves a long list of what not to do. What could go wrong? Made by the Bum Family, a collective of 6 cousins. This is NOT made at a film school or institution. Pure indie. Juror comments: Lilly and the Baby is perhaps a typical portrayal of babysitting. Kids will relate to this tale of Lilly’s babysitting. It’s another quirky fun take by the one-eyed monster Lilly - cute and entertaining! The story follows Lilly as she goes to babysit a baby. The "hearts in their eyes" indicates they will enjoy their evening ahead. Of course, the parents give a list of don'ts to Lilly who responds with, “blah, blah, blah” - in other words, let's get on with it. All in good humor, it is a bit disrespectful. However, the quirky escapades ensue - on the treadmill, taking a walk, making something to eat, including making the cookie saga. This is a creative, inventive, imaginative short animated film by the Canadian Bum Family of six cousins. Their artwork and animation tell the story - from the treadmill to the walk, to making something to eat. The applesauce accidentally falling into the goldfish bowl kills the fish that the baby was to eat. About the house, when they walk in, the front falls out from the fire. You see the smoke damage. Kids may think this is funny, I do not. Their overall presentation is quirky and imaginative to look at. The design of animated characters is creative and fun to view. I particularly like the cookie-making scene showing how Lilly puts all the ingredients together. The music complements the animation well. This is creative filmmaking. The Bum Family’s artwork comes alive with their special voiceovers. Animated Lily unpredictability leads with imagination. The cousins have a distinct way of telling a story. This message is really a fun, silly interpretation of babysitting. I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 6 to 15. Reviewed by Terry S., KIDS FIRST!

Lilly, a giant orange monster, embarks on an adventure at a lakeside fishing camp with her friend Fluffle. Will Lilly discover the mysterious secret that lurks below the surface of the lake? The Bum Family is a group of 6 cousins from Calgary, Canada, who create short animated movies together. Maezy, Medina, and Zaiyah Dennie (ages 15, 14, and 11), and Berlin, Ocean, and Sol (ages 15, 12, and 8) write their stories, create the artwork, direct, animate, and voice their movies. Their short films have screened at over 100 film festivals, and have won awards for Audience Favourite and Best Animation. They recently made a short film for pre-schoolers for Sesame Street. Juror's comments: OMG, another wonderful animated short from the talented Bum Family! I couldn't wait to watch this and was not disappointed. This group of 6 cousins brings such delightful stories to life with their fun paper animation, voice talent, and creativity. This definitely is a winner that will make a great addition to any KIDS FIRST! Film Festival partner venue. It holds your interest from beginning to end, with many quirky moments throughout - all kid and family-friendly. I recommend it for ages 7 to 18, as well as adults, and give it 5 out of 5 stars. Lilly, a 10-foot tall orange monster, visits the Victoria Dog Show, but her friend Fluffle gets sequestered in the mutt pen! Will Lilly take Best in Show? Juror comments: Admittedly, I am a huge fan of the animations from the clever Bum Family. This short does not disappoint with its colorful animation, fun voice talent, and wacky storyline. I will say that I had to watch it twice to catch the storyline, but maybe that's because I was just enchanted by the fun images. I definitely recommend this to the KIDS FIRST! Film Festivals, and it would be very fun to include their past work along with it, if you have the time. 5 out of 5 stars, recommended for ages 7 to 18. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror.

This short documentary explores what people are doing about pollution. Made by a group of 6 young cousins who fear the world is ending due to human activity. By asking people how they address the pollution crisis in their everyday lives, and using animation to illustrate the responses, the filmmakers hope to inspire viewers to do their part in solving the pollution solution. Juror comments: Pollution Solution is a youth-produced documentary that tackles the views of young people who express their concerns about what is not being done to tackle pollution globally. This documentary is made by one of my favorite producers, the Bum Family – a group of 6 cousins from Canada. The views expressed here range from distress to optimism. The camera work is well done; it’s enhanced by little animations which add to not just the visual impact but offer a sub-context at the same time. The kids express solution ideas and, in that way, is very positive. For teens that are aware, this gives them inspiring ideas of how they can contribute to solving the problem. The message is to wake up, acknowledge the dangers to the Earth and become proactive. I give Pollution Solution 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 10 to 18 plus adults. Zoe C. is 13 years old and lives in the greater Miami area of Florida. As an actor, she is known for&nbsp;Cootie Katie&nbsp;(2018).She has a dog and her friends call her Zozo. She loves films as well as playing, singing, auditioning, dancing, playing guitar and doing crafts. Her favorite films are The Greatest Showman, La La Land and Miracles from Heaven. Her favorite actresses are Eddie Redmayne,&nbsp;Millie Bobby and Emma Stone because she loves how they stand out in their films. She aspires to become an actress when she grows up. Her favorite film critics are Evangeline Lilly and Calista B. She is very excited about becoming a KIDS FIRST!
