Animation, live-action, and documentary shorts about tech-savvy inner and outer space exploring kids.

A young animator is transported into his animated stories, with the help of friends and family in the real world.

Juror comments: Great student animated film. Made me laugh throughout the entire thing.

This short film follows Liam and his friends as they explore his animated world and the real world.

What terrific animation. I love the characters and backgrounds in this film. Even the titles are fun. The various settings are well developed and the background and featured music are all terrific. I really like his robot buddy, especially in the snowboarding sequence. The vegetarian shark is interesting and, of course, his dog. The multiverse sequence is cool also. Running in a maze at Sharkman Universe reminds me of PacMan visuals. All the various explorations of Liam and his friends are fun and infinitely relatable. I think this is a film - and the beginning of a series - that many young people would enjoy. It reminds me of early versions of The Simpsons or South Park, without so much adult content.

The message here is that Liam has an interesting life and he’s inviting you to share it.

I give Liam Butler and His Friends: Liam Goes to Liamland 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12, plus adults. Kudos to Liam Butler for developing this. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
