One morning David Sleet wakes up and feels out of sorts. Desperate for answers, he sets out on a quest to find out what's not quite right about today. Along the way David encounters a series of strange absurdities and has his mobile phone stolen. Thinking "The Internet" has all the answers, he frantically searches for his phone, and upon finding it discovers that he has slipped from reality. David has pushed his family and friends aside in order to avoid grieving the loss of his wife. When he stumbles to his sister’s door and finally admits that he’s not quite right, we know that he will, eventually, be okay.

Something's Not Quite Right

Self in Progress follows a young woman's experience with anxiety and mental illness and her journey of healing through acceptance and self-compassion. The film draws inspiration from the aesthetics of Surrealism to visualize this mental health journey.

Birdie (the title character) struggles with depression as she raises her two-year old son and works a dead-end job in rural Missouri outside of St. Louis. She sometimes wonders what would have happened had she stayed in LA and continued to pursue acting. Her friend (a working movie director) visits her while he films on location. They contemplate "the grass is always greener" concept of family verses career.

Birdie

Chameleons is a story about Joana, an actress who suffers from bipolar disorder, just like her mother and grandmother. Joana's grandmother, Dona Ditinha, lives with this disorder well. Her mother does not. Joana doesn't know yet if she will be like her mother or her grandmother. Through the letters that Joana writes to her grandmother, the testimonials of bipolar artists and a documentary about chameleons, we can follow the doubts and anguishes of those who live with bipolar disorder.

When Samantha was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, she felt alone and afraid. Suddenly, the mountains and valleys of her life made much more sense. After struggling to navigate her complicated experience alone, she decided she didn't want anyone else to go through what she did. She went online, and founded a Bipolar Support Group. "Beautiful Purpose: A Bipolar Community," has grown to over eight thousand members from all over the planet, and an official nonprofit business. Samantha is now an official life-coach, and champions members of her Bipolar community, to bring them resources and assistance, help them navigate and understand their experiences, and offer a listening ear. She lets them know, that "you are not alone," and "you can do this!".
