BREAK ANY SPELL: A teenage girl uses Live Action Role-Playing to cope and escape from her mother who suffers from early-onset Alzheimer’s.

DIRTY LAUNDRY: A man investigates the disappearance of his sock after doing laundry. The truth, he discovers, is much more terrifying than he imagined...or is it?

ELENA: Elena wakes up in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, the place is full of mysterious books that keep the history of each of the people who have lived; an old woman smiling is its guardian and with much affection she prepares to talk to Elena to remind her of those lives she forgot. Little by little and over three different lives, the old woman will teach Elena what she really is and introduce her to a world full of mystery, beauty and duality.

FRANCESKA: In this delightful animated short, the cold night hangs over the old Frankenstein's castle. Victor -- the scientist willing to challenge science -- sets out to carry out his most ambitious plan: bring his admired Franceska back to life. With the collaboration, or not, of Igor, his invaluable and loving assistant; Victor will face the greatest challenge of his career.

HUNGER: A child is being tormented by a voracious well monster demanding food from him. But as he proves unable to satisfy its hunger, he drags himself to find another way of feeding it.

SCRATCH: Separation, loneliness and a deadly smell tarnish the lives of the occupants of the forest.

MATTRICIDE: A humorous stop motion thriller following one woman's fight with urban fly-tipping. If Hitchcock made “The Birds” with mattresses instead of crows, it would look something like this.

WAKE UP LITTLE GIRL: While home alone, Sara gets a familiar but unwelcome guest who threatens to destroy what she loves most.

THE PEY: A social media obsessed teenager is haunted by a terrifying monster after posting a mysterious GIF online.

Director Biography - Anton Jøsef

The son of Austrian and Hungarian immigrants, Anton was born in Toronto and played NCAA D1 soccer before giving up his athletic career to pursue filmmaking. After years of shooting wedding videos, Anton had his first breakthrough directing a music video for Canadian indie rock band The Dears, which was featured on Wired Magazine and MTV. Anton’s passion for short format storytelling helped him transition into directing TV commercials across the world. His clients include Starbucks, JEEP, the Asian Games, Century 21 and Samsung. Anton’s recent short-doc ‘Aftermask’ was featured as the ‘Best of September 2020’ by Shots Creative and is currently playing at select festivals. 'Break Any Spell' is his first narrative short, co-written and produced with his sister.
