ERIN (mid-20s) enters THE WAITING ROOM. This is a space outside of time and reality, but also just looks like an office’s waiting room. In this space Erin and others are given smart phones that allow them to observe themselves as they continue living in the real world, as if they are flies on the wall and watching their own lives from the outside. Not long after Erin arrives, she runs into an old friend, DREW (mid-20s). They catchup, but it soon becomes clear that Drew is resentful of how their friendship ended many years ago. Erin is surprised, unaware that their friendship had ended at all. They argue about how their friendship ended, and Erin realizes that she’s lost a dear friend. If she wants to get him back she’ll have to change. In the end she makes a phone call to Drew leaves a voicemail where she apologizes for being absent from his life. She hopes that he’ll call her back.

Logline: A woman runs into an old friend in the Waiting Room and realizes that their once close friendship is already over. In order to save their relationship, she must confront her own apathy or lose him forever.
