Ji-woo's mother is suffering from hwabyeoung. An illness that presents as a heat from the insides, a sensation of anger, pity, and frustration that threatens to destroy the body. Ji-woo explains the origin of her mother's disease to us, that three men had poisoned her mother: Yanagi Soetsu, a Japanese poet, Douglas MacArthur, an American general, and Synghman Rhee, the first president of South Korea.
Director's Bio: Josh Park is a filmmaker located in the Bay Area. His work has shown at Buffalo International Film Festival, San Francisco IndieFest, Boston Asian American Film Festival, and others. His first feature, Mary Kwon Mary Kwon, is currently in post-production. His day job is as head cinema technician of San Francisco State University.
