Politician Man is a protest song for Canada. The seeds were planted when Adrian Sutherland’s remote Cree community of Attawapiskat declared a state of emergency over contaminated water. At the same moment, insensitive comments from an Ottawa politician sparked massive public outcry. Politician Man is Sutherland’s response. The award-winning video was created by Justin Stephenson (Gord Downie’s The Secret Path) and speaks to Canada’s troubled relationship with First Nations in a powerful way.
