Through wry glances, missed signals, and messy truths, people fumble, flail, and occasionally flourish in their search for connection. From queer youth on the edge to siblings frozen in childhood wounds, from surreal city wanderings to van rides toward difficult choices; these stories shine with awkward grace and emotional honesty. Life doesn’t tie itself up neatly, but sometimes, it gives us just enough thread.

An Indonesian boy and his mother attend a church potluck and lie about their dish. The boy’s keen observations lead him to question the fluid honesty of adults as his beloved parents strive to assimilate into a new culture. A story about the sanctuary of family and the capacity to see our parents’ flaws with compassion.
