Khadjou Sambe was the first woman to surf in her hometown of Dakar, Senegal. In doing so, she emerged from a patriarchal system to become an icon for black women surfers everywhere and pave the way for the next generation. Season 3 of Transformed focuses on how women like Khadjou are lifting each other up and impacting the communities around them through surfing.

When Abortion is a Lifeline is an immersive multimedia project by video journalist Ana Maria Rodriguez and journalist Eulimar Nunez. During a visit to Dominican Republic and El Salvador they talked to organizers, lawmakers and women who had been affected by laws that prohibit access to abortion. These are just 2 of the 6 countries in the region that prohibit abortion in all cases, even when the life of the mother is in danger or when pregnancy is the result of rape. In 2014, at least 900 women died from unsafe abortions in the region, equal to 10% of maternal deaths.
