THE TIP is based on a true story about a quintessential entrepreneurial immigrant, who navigates the journey to his dream of success by paying the goodwill forward, listening to the little voice inside, and manifesting the success he dreams of for himself and all those around him. The film portrays the earliest days of a now legendary LA restaurant which had humble origins and never lost touch with its humanity.

Director's Bio: Katerina Tana studied English and French Lit. at University of York in England where she acted and directed several plays, and later trained as an actor in London. She debuted the role of Arlie in Getting Out in the UK premiere of the play. In London she worked as photographic editor on legendary director Fred Zinnemann's autobiography.

She has worked in feature film development, production and design in California over the past 25 years. She wrote this short based on a story heard many times growing up. This is the first film she has written and directed.
